Right now, Libra Theater Company is in the middle of finalizing all of the shows for our upcoming 2012-13 season. So to help that along, I'm plowing through a ton of scripts. One of the playwrights that I've been reading a lot of lately is Stephen Belber. I knew of Stephen's work from Atlantic (where Dusk Rings a Bell premiered), but I'd never taken the time to read through his body of work. I'm really impressed. His work and in particularly his quick but significant dialogue resonate with me. If you haven't read Tape, you should pick it up. It's very much ingrained in the 90s, but it's got a lot to say. Match is also great. And now I'm starting Carol Mulroney. If you have the opportunity, I recommend that you read more of his work, especially with the premiere of Don't Go Gentle coming up at MCC.
